Iain oversees both the legal and corporate secretarial functions at Shangri-La Group, managing legal and regulatory affairs across more than 24 countries. This includes responsibility for the Group’s primary and secondary stock listings in Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as its affiliated listings in Malaysia and Thailand. Leading a multi-disciplinary, international team of in-house professionals, Iain brings together expertise in hotel management, commercial leasing, real estate development, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, e-commerce, technology, corporate finance, banking, dispute resolution, and personal data protection. He consistently navigates rapidly changing business environments and shifting geopolitical dynamics, drawing on extensive experience in managing crises effectively. At the heart of the Group’s compliance and risk management operations, Iain plays a pivotal role in aligning legal and regulatory strategies with broader business objectives, ensuring that risks and opportunities are carefully balanced. He serves as a trusted adviser to the Board of Directors, upholding high standards of corporate governance and fostering a culture that values integrity and accountability throughout the organisation.

Prior to joining Shangri-La, Iain was a partner in an international law firm with nearly two decades of private practice experience in dispute resolution focused on areas such as commercial litigation, international arbitration, insolvency, construction, compliance, and investigations.
