About

Heracles Group
Composed of six lawyers, HERACLES Group’s legal team ensures that the company’s extensive business operations in Greece – where it is regarded as the go-to name in cement and building materials – are in extremely safe hands from a legal perspective. The team is led by General Counsel Eirini (Rena) Florou, who spoke to some of the major projects the team has achieved success in recently. ‘Alongside implementing GDPR initiatives, restructuring the company’s debtors portfolio, restructuring Group subsidiaries and overseeing numerous multimillion-euro real estate and shipping projects, we have established a rigid compliance program and have been successful in a number of litigations and other cases, for instance the Portland cement Antidumping case, a State Aid case, and a labour law case, just to highlight a few’, she says. The team itself has also been restructured internally to allow it to ‘provide a full alignment with the Group’s business identity and strategy; it is now ‘fully capable of meeting the constantly changing business demands’ of the company and has achieved a far higher level of economy and efficiency. Alongside Florou, Apostolos Foteinos, Nina Kakali and Eirini Kanellou have been a key performers in the team, the former for his work on GDPR, commercial, labor and competition law matters and the latter for their work on real estate, energy, administrative issues and civil law, contracts, corporate legal work respectively. Florou has the final word on the Heracles Group legal team and why it has been at the heart of much of the company’s success in recent years: ‘Having to do more with less, we act as trusted and proactive advisor and business partner delivering on our promises and generating value to help business in achieving objectives in the most effective and efficient manner, always in the best interest of Heracles and LafargeHolcim Group.
