Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?

In our legal team, it is highly appreciated that all legal experts be updated with any changes in law. Whilst it is not denied that one’s expertise in a field of law is completely necessary given the dynamic landscape of the legal environment, we believe that a holistic perspective helps a legal professional identify potential legal issues that might otherwise be overlooked. To this end, the members of our team are strongly encouraged to deliver to the rest of the team members lectures for specific legal issues with which they are more familiar. This has proved beneficial for all team members, including the presenter themselves, who deepens this particular issue for their presentation and has also contributed to fostering a sense of unity and collaboration between team members, which is deemed essential, especially in this digital area where remote working and isolation are very common.

What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

Our firm has always aspired to improve the services’ quality and expand itself in new fields of expertise. Before any new venture, our legal team is asked to assist the firm with expert legal advice, assessing the regulatory landscape, compliance obligations, licensing requirements, and any legal barriers involving new areas of expertise. This implies creating a roadmap outlining legal, regulatory, and procedural requirements. Our legal team constantly seeks to provide clear and actionable guidance to help the firm make informed decisions and ensure that its expansion efforts are legally sound.

How important is choosing to work with external lawyers who align with your company’s values? Are you likely to reconsider what firms you work with based on this?

The selection of external contractors who resonate with our company’s values has always constituted a priority for our firm and a challenge for our legal team. While most of the everyday tasks are assigned and completed by our internal legal team members, there may be cases where consultation by an external advisor is also essential. In such cases, we carefully choose external advisors who share the same values and moral compass with us. This diligent and prudent choice has made collaboration between internal and external advisors smooth and efficient, and it has also enhanced our team’s trust in the quality of the final result and the maintenance of our company’s reputation. We deem respect to these values of such importance that any disruption by external lawyers may also lead us to reconsider the continuance of such collaboration.
