Established in 1973, Commercial General Insurance is among the leading companies in the Cypriot general insurance sector, operating branches in all major towns, as well as a large network of agencies scattered across the island. Drawing on her vast former experience in private practice, Christina Orphanidou took charge of the company’s legal and compliance function 2014. Since her appointment, Orphanidou has not only been instrumental in designing the legal support structure behind the organisation’s portfolio of insurance products, but has also worked alongside the company’s management team to define a long-term business strategy.

Prior to assuming her current position, Orphanidou spent approximately two years running her own practice out of Larnaca. At the onset of her legal career Orphanidou worked at Nicosia-based law firm Ioannides Demetriou. She holds an LLM from the University of Cambridge and an LLB from King’s College London.
