Christian Seidel has acted since 2013 as general counsel. In 2021 he also assumed the role of chief compliance officer of the HORNBACH Group — a listed home improvement retailer operating in nine European countries with a turnover exceeding EUR€ 6 billion and more than 25,000 employees.

Before taking over this position, Christian Seidel was the regional general counsel in charge of a Metro Group sales line active in several countries and advised the headquarter and the local management on all significant legal issues. His in-house career started as corporate counsel for a former E.ON subsidiary active worldwide in the business sector of measuring and improving the flow of gas, water and electricity. It included the sale of private equity funds, the subsequent restructuring of the group and various M&A projects. Christian began his legal career in 2001 as an attorney at law for a major law firm based in Duesseldorf.

Major cases and transactions of the past years comprise the delisting of a listed subsidiary, the conversion of the legal form of a listed group holding company and numerous commercial and compliance projects.
