Since its founding in 1874, Hochtief has developed into Germany’s largest construction company with currently over 51,000 employees and a sales volume of €19.9bn in 2016. Legal director Dr Holger-Kirsten Rosenbauer joined Hochtief in 2009 and is considered by his peers as being a gifted M&A and corporate governance specialist having worked on a number of large transactions over the course of his eight-year association with the company. In this regard, his notable achievements include working on a series of sales that enabled the company to focus more on its core business, such as the sale of Hochtief’s airport business in 2013 to the Canadian pension fund PSP Investments, the sale of Hochtief’s stake in real estate company Aurelis to a consortium of investors and Hochtief’s sale of its Streif Baulogistik subsidiary to the Zeppelin Group in 2014. More recently, Rosenbauer has assisted Hochtief’s group of companies win a great deal of multimillion dollar contract awards throughout the world which are helping maintain and develop its position in the market. Before joining the company, Rosenbauer spent five years in the legal department at Leoni, a global supplier of optical fibres and cable systems in the automotive industry. He is graduate of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and Nottingham Trent University.
