Owning six hotel brands that cater to all aspects of the market, ranging from luxury to budget locations, Groupe du Louvre is a French enterprise that operates 1,100 hotels in 51 countries. In February 2015, Chinese Group Jin Jiang International acquired Groupe du Louvre, creating one of the largest hotel operators in the world. This acquisition sees Louvre Hotels able to expand its presence across the world at an even faster pace. For example, the group has most recently opened the first Campanile hotel in Vietnam, established a 5-star boutique Royal Tulip hotel in Lebanon and has undertaken the successful purchase of a large stake in the Sarovor Hotels Group, making them one of the largest hotel groups in India. The company is being ably assisted in this process of expansion into new markets by the legal department, which is led by general counsel Benjamin Dornic and is responsible for ensuring that the cross-border legal and compliance aspects of each deal are in order.
