Semih serves as Group General Counsel of Greycoat, a real asset investment firm focused on infrastructure and real estate, as well as Directeur Général and Partner for Continental Europe. Based in the firm’s Paris office, he oversees its legal affairs across the United Kingdom and Continental Europe and contributes to its European expansion, covering strategy, investment sourcing and execution, asset management, capital raising, team leadership and stakeholder engagement.

Prior to joining Greycoat, he spent five years at La Caisse, where he led European legal affairs for a C$13 billion real estate portfolio spanning industrial, digital infrastructure, logistics, office, residential and retail assets, held through listed companies, funds, joint ventures and private equity investments.

Previously, he practised law for over a decade at Sullivan & Cromwell and Latham & Watkins, specialising in strategic M&A, capital markets and corporate governance. He was named a Rising Star for M&A by The Legal 500 in 2020 and 2021. He is admitted to the Paris Bar.

He holds a BSc in Economics from the University of London and an Executive MBA from HEC Paris, which he completed while at La Caisse. He studied law in German in Switzerland and in France, as well as political philosophy in Argentina. Having grown up in multicultural environments, he is fluent in English, French, Spanish, German and Turkish, bringing a global perspective to business and legal strategy.

He is passionate about geopolitics, gastronomy and the arts, and enjoys attending theatre and opera performances with friends and family.

Convinced that direct dialogue between general counsel creates real value, we co-founded the ‘GC Club Paris, Connecting General Counsels in Investment and Private Markets’ in September 2026 with Semih Bayar Eren. The Club brings together Paris-based senior legal leaders of investment and private markets firms, across asset classes. Its purpose is to build a circle of trust in which peers share experience and exchange views on market, regulatory and other practical developments. While technology accelerates processes, trust cannot be automated. Through the Club, we aim to contribute, at our level, to strengthening Paris as a leading centre for investment and private markets.
