Can you tell us a little about your significant accomplishments over the last few years, as a team or by yourself?

One of the most significant achievements of my team and I have been the acquisition of a new company a few years ago. We have worked to create and roll out a new business unit in Europe. Such roll out required the setting-up of corporate structures in order to deploy and manage operations in Europe.

Over the last few years, we drove the response to the Covid-19 pandemic by setting up FFP2 and FFP3 masks production in Europe and the Middle East.

Additionally, we have promptly and efficiently responded to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, by winding down operations in Russia.

Have any recent political, economic or regulatory changes impacted your work? How are you dealing with this?

In the past couple of years, we managed several changes, such as Brexit, the Covid-19 pandemic, the global supply chain constraints, shortages and sanctions to Russia.

Such changes not only had an impact on our operations and business, but also on the legal work and support we had to provide the company with.

With Brexit, we had to implement exports, imports and customs compliance processes to ensure our products manufactured in the UK could be sold to our customers in the EU and vice versa, with minimal disruption.

Russia sanctions — the invasion of Ukraine by Russia impacted our activities significantly. We had critical operations in Russia in addition to suppliers and customers. We had to wind down our operations in Russia and conduct due diligence on certain customers to determine if they or their owners were subject to the US, the UK or EU sanctions.

Global Supply chain constraints— like all companies, we have faced significant disruptions concerning global supply chain constraints. The availability of certain raw materials, their costs increase, and the freight constraints have forced us to adapt our contracts and ensure certain risks were mitigated.

Increase of raw materials prices — we had to negotiate extensively specific provisions such as price escalation in our contracts with customers and suppliers to secure the sourcing of key raw materials to manufacture our products.

How has the increasing consciousness of climate change and sustainability affected your company and the team’s priorities?

Honeywell is committed to being carbon neutral by 2035: Approximately 50% of our new product introduction research and development activity is directed toward products that improve environmental and social outcomes for our customers. Therefore, this is becoming a key element when looking for suppliers and partners. We have implemented vital compliance provisions and codes for suppliers to reflect this consciousness which is also very important for our customers.
