In an uncertain environment we had been working to provide a proactive legal advisory. Once identified the strategic vision and needs, collaborate for its development and obtention. We are in direct contact with our business units’ operations; this allows the legal team to understand what the corporation is doing and where they are going.

Why are in-house lawyers well-placed to drive change in their organisations?

The legal team belongs to the corporation and therefore acts in defence of legal issues as if they were its own. The team achieves an understanding of the business and a sense of ownership.

As we live in a fast-paced world today, what skills will a corporate legal team need to succeed in the modern in-house industry?

It requires constant study. In addition, it requires being open to know and participate in collaborative spaces (which includes the interaction with diverse actors of the corporation) to make the business of the present a reality (identifying and mitigating risks) and to foresee and protect the future.
