Career Biography

Daniela Porras Orduz is a business-oriented in-house counsel with almost a decade of experience advising highly regulated organisations across Latin America. She currently serves as Legal Manager, LATAM Cluster North at AbbVie, based in Bogotá, where she provides strategic legal leadership across a multi-country footprint spanning Colombia, Central America, the Caribbean, Peru, Ecuador and Venezuela.

Recognised for sound judgment, integrity and a highly collaborative leadership style, Daniela is a trusted partner to senior stakeholders for practical, risk-calibrated counsel that enables sustainable growth while meeting evolving compliance expectations.

In her current role, Daniela leads legal support for a complex and diverse cluster covering more than 24 countries, working closely with cross-functional leadership to balance commercial objectives with legal, regulatory and ethical requirements. Her practice focuses on commercial and corporate matters, contract strategy and negotiation, competition/antitrust risk, compliance governance and the coordination of dispute-related workstreams. She is known for translating complex legal requirements into clear, decision-ready guidance, and for building scalable approaches that improve consistency, speed and execution quality across markets.

A defining milestone in Daniela’s career has been her leadership and execution support during the AbbVie–Allergan integration, helping drive alignment across governance, processes and ways of working in a complex, multi-market environment. She has also played a central role in cross-functional initiatives that strengthen operating discipline and enable compliant execution across a diverse range of markets and business needs. Her leadership approach is grounded in disciplined risk management, proactive stakeholder engagement and an unwavering commitment to high ethical standards.

In 2025, Daniela expanded her regional perspective through a Short-Term Assignment with AbbVie Brazil in São Paulo, supporting a broad portfolio of strategic initiatives and partnering with teams across commercial, compliance and operational functions. This experience further strengthened her ability to lead through influence in matrixed environments, deliver under tight timelines and build alignment across cultures and seniority levels.

Prior to joining AbbVie, Daniela built a strong foundation in private practice and public sector experience in Colombia, advising on competition law, consumer protection, data privacy and commercial matters, and supporting corporate and transactional work. Daniela holds an LL.B. and a B.A. in Political Science from Universidad de los Andes (2016), a Specialisation in Commercial Law, and has completed executive training in Corporate Compliance. She is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese.
