Sinotrans enjoys a deeply embedded, highly trusted and extremely capable legal department containing a number of lawyers who have almost unparalleled knowledge of the company and experience of its operation. One such example is vice president, chief legal advisor and party committee member Yang Yuntao who began his legal career in 1988 and has held a number of key positions in Sinotrans since then. The overall team has had a major impact on the company, having played a significant role in projects including gearing up for Sinotrans Shipping’s upcoming IPO and work on a number of deals. These include its October 2018 agreement to sell its 51% stake in supply chain equipment manufacturing subsidiary China Merchants Loscam to CITIC Capital and FountainVest.
