Owned by the Canadian consortium Transelec Holding Rentas, the Santiago based Transelec Chile has been in business since 2007, providing high voltage electric transmission to customers across the country. The company’s relatively small, but very well organised legal unit, which has long been known for its extraordinarily strong delivery standards, has had an outstanding 2017, impressing with its legal support for key projects. To be more specific, Transelec was allocated the construction of a 500KV line in the region of Antofagasta for the consortium Abengoa-Kipreos Ingenieros – one of the most significant projects in the company’s history, and the legal team has played an invaluable role in securing the deal. While supporting this and other key projects for the company, Transelec’s legal unit has impressed with its delivery of high level legal advice with a strategic vision. One source hails the team for its ‘deep understanding of the complexities of the legal system’ as well as its ‘ability to anticipate potential obstacles during legal and business negotiations’. The team is led by Duke Law School graduate Arturo Le Blanc – a legal veteran with approximately two decades of experience. He works alongside a number of skilful lawyers, including, by way of example, legal assistant manager for business and regulation Francisco Brotfeld.
