A plethora of high-calibre lawyers are tasked with shielding the wide-reaching activities of the Chilean electricity generator Colbun, which include 23 power plants in the country with another plant in Peru. Rodrigo Perez, former legal advisor at PPL Global Latinoamerica, assumed responsibility for the legal team in 2007, and has since contributed to the successful outcome in a number of legal cases and transactions, with most recent examples involving a 12 year $400m liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply deal with ENAP, Chile’s national petroleum company, a $500m notes off erring and a mitigation agreement with Chile’s Superintendence of the Environment. Integral contributions to the company’s ongoing projects and deals have also been made by legal manager Rodrigo Stiepovic, who has been praised for the depth of his understanding of the energy sector. Rafael Goldsack Trebilcock, who was also previously featured in the GC Powerlist series, is the newest addition to the team. His over fifteen years expertise of working within multidisciplinary teams in the energy sector has boosted the unit’s already strong profile.
