Focus on working at Roche

I joined Roche just a little more than two years ago. It is a company founded in Basel, Switzerland. It is one of the first industrial manufacturers of branded medicines. Roche has grown into one of the world’s largest biotech companies, a leading provider of in-vitro diagnostics and a global supplier of innovative solutions for major diseases.

When I get asked why I decided to move to a new company and industry amid the uncertainty of the pandemic landscape, I always say — “it is about people; it is about deeply caring for another human being”.

The function of in-house lawyers is moving very fast, transforming from the guardian of law and internal regulations to becoming drivers of business deeply connected with the company mission and fostering a culture of sustainable growth. At Roche, we aim to do now what patients will need next. We move on the edge of science and innovation to provide valuable and agile legal advice connected with our UX, to shape our business and mindset with a future focus on how the legal and regulatory landscape will look in uncharted territories.

My suggestion to achieve such a condition is to remain deeply connected with colleagues and friends, share experiences and learn how to deliver prompt ethical advice better, setting up high standards of integrity to improve the lives of those around us. Additionally, it is crucial to familiarise yourself with legal tech to become the team player your company needs you to be.
