According to nominators, chief compliance and ethics officer for Latin America Angie Armer ‘has demonstrated an ability to anticipate and evaluate risky legal situations before they arise’ at Walgreens Boots Alliance which is a significant achievement given that she was hired by Latin American business leaders to reduce risk in the company’s Latin America operations comprised of approximately 1,600 pharmacies and 600 general practice clinics. Furthermore, nominators have also praised her as ‘a very detail focused professional, easy to work with, even when the workload is heavy and intense’. During her time at the company, Armer has implemented policies, training and financial controls focused on the Code of Conduct and Business Ethics, antitrust, data privacy and consumer protection laws in addition to performing risk assessments focused on patient and employee health and safety, criminal responsibility and reputational risk and regulatory compliance to immediately begin to mitigate identified risks. After the research deadline for this publication, Armer left Walgreens Boots Alliance to take on a new challenge at French multinational Orpea, who expanded their operations to Chile earlier this year.
