The legal team at Polpharma Group is led by Agnieszka Deeg-Tyburska, the general counsel, director of legal, organisational, compliance and IP division, and continues to impress after another year of impressive performance. Polpharma Group is one of Poland’s largest manufacturers of genetic drugs used in cardiology, gastroenterology and neurology. Starogard Gdański headquartered, the legal team is responsible for the legal elements of all organisational, IP and compliance related matters and includes a cross functional and international team of 65 people working in Poland, Russia, Kazakhstan and Barcelona, Spain. In particular the team is recognised for its IP expertise which produces more patent applications to the European Patent Office than any other similar Polish company, as well as its handling of the company’s educational programs. Polpharma Group has this year announced the inauguration of its first “BIO Academy”, the largest practical education facility in the Polish biotechnology sector. This is not the company’s first foray into education, as it has a longstanding PhD sponsor program with Gdansk Medical University (GUMed) and runs a careers lab project offering internships to university and technical school graduates, showing the embedded ethical and talent-building nature of the Group.
