MET Hungary, formerly MOL Energiakereskedő Kft, is a major natural gas wholesale and retail trader operating across Europe and began trading in Hungary in 2007. The legal team is led by Linda Szegvari, chief legal counsel, who has served the company in various roles since qualification and currently heads the Hungarian team and is responsible for overseeing legal affairs in Hungary, Croatia, Serbia and Ukraine. In the last year the legal team has been busy managing new projects and other commercial matters as the MET expands further into the region. For example, MET Group reached a share purchase agreement with Italian energy business Eni in December 2017 to acquire 98% of shares in Tigáz Zrt, another large Hungarian natural gas company, further establishing MET’s industry presence. The company is also investing in solar energy and other renewable products in Hungary with the upcoming development of the MET Dunai solar park, another instance of the legal department assisting business objectives.
