Coca-Cola has a significant presence in Austria, ranking as the biggest company in the country’s non-alcoholic beverage industry and employing approximately 1,000 people. Besides its headquarters in Vienna, the company operates sales locations in the federal states and a state-of-the-art production and logistics centre in Edelstal, from where the company supplies the entire Austrian market with Coca-Cola products. Its Vienna-based legal team is headed by Claudia Simon and provides support to Coca-Cola’s full assortment of beverages including well-known brands Coca‑Cola, Coke Zero, Coke Light, Fanta and Sprite, but also Cappy, the energy drink Monster, the company’s new iced team brand Fuze Tea and the sports drink Powerade. Having joined Coca-Cola as a legal counsel in 2012, Simon was promoted to legal director in 2015, and alongside her team has been the main point of contact for all legal issues relating to the company. The team impressed with its meaningful contribution to the relocation of the company’s production site to Edelstal, an achievement which led to Simon’s subsequent promotion to her current role.
