For the last six years Izabela Makowska has held the position of head of legal at mBank Hipoteczny in Warsaw. Overall, she had been working with mBH for nearly 20 years. Currently she is a member of VdP’s (Verband Deutscher Pfandbriefbanken) legal roundtable addressing European national and EU legislation issues. She is also a participant and panellist of Covered Bond Conferences. Practical issues and projects in the field of mortgage banking are important part of her professional work. In 2013 she developed and implemented an agency model of cooperation with mBH’s mother bank in the field of sale and servicing of mortgage loans. In 2014 mBH significantly developed implementing a fist pooling model, which has later been adopted by other mortgage banks in Poland. In development phase she has been a head of group legal working on the above model. In 2018 she engaged in subsequent project with its aim to entrust servicing of commercial loans to mother bank with the aim to make mBH more cost efficient. She was also engaged in the consultancy process with Polish FSA.

As a manager she leads her team members in Warsaw and Łódź. She has developed and implemented a special IT tool for management of cases, tasks, gathering the outcome of work and providing statistical dates for the legal service department.
