Andrés Morales

Andrés Morales is a distinguished legal and compliance expert with over 20 years of experience guiding multinational organizations through the complexities of corporate law, healthcare, governance, and digital innovation across Latin America. Based in Costa Rica, he has built a reputation for a strategic, results-driven approach in both leading law firms and top global corporations.

Currently, Andrés serves as Head of Legal and Compliance Officer at Roche – RSS Americas, where he oversees all legal and corporate matters for the company’s operations in Costa Rica while maintaining strong connections with Roche affiliates worldwide. He also holds the roles of Data Privacy Officer and Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to data protection regulations and leading initiatives in ethics, AI, healthcare digital solutions, People & Culture, and Facilities. Supporting more than 1,250 collaborators, Andrés plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s legal strategy and operations, always with the mission of improving patients’ lives through innovation.

Prior to Roche, Andrés was Latin America Legal Counsel for National Instruments (now part of Emerson Electric), advising subsidiaries across the region on corporate, compliance, commercial, and transactional matters. He was a member of the leadership committee and successfully advanced risk mitigation and compliance programs throughout Latin America.

Earlier in his career, Andrés served as Legal Manager at Grupo Roble, a leading developer and operator of commercial properties and hotels in Central America, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and the Caribbean. He managed the legal affairs of large-scale real estate projects, including shopping centers and hotels under major international brands. He began his career as an attorney at prestigious firms such as Facio & Cañas, Consortium, and KPMG, advising multinational corporations and financial institutions on corporate law, free trade zones, and complex real estate transactions.

Academically, Andrés earned his J.D. from Universidad La Salle and his LL.M. from Boston University School of Law. He further strengthened his leadership and business expertise through programs at INCAE Business School and recently completed the Executive Healthcare Leadership Program at Cornell University.

His leadership and expertise have been recognized in the Legal 500 General Counsel Powerlist Central America in 2018, 2024, 2025, and now in 2026, underscoring his continued influence in the region.

Throughout his career, Andrés has been a dedicated mentor and leader, supporting teams and advising executive committees.
