What has been the number one challenge that has impacted you over the past year?
The biggest challenge over the past year has been the integration of newly acquired companies by the group. This represented additional workload, a need to organise resources and work together and in alignment with the employees of the acquired company.
In which ways have you attempted to bring the legal department closer to your business colleagues?
By implementing digitalisation tools created to facilitate the integration with legal, by focusing on tasks that are strategic and assessing non-legal and non-value-added work, that is usually sent to our legal department. Once the assessment was completed, I created a plan to transition some of the activities in full alignment with the business. This initiative was rolled out in Latin America.
