What projects are you most proud to have worked on over the past 12 months?
I secured an unprecedented resolution in a regulatory investigation, avoiding fines and non-compliance findings through collaborative negotiation with the regulator and measured responses to information requests.
I also spearheaded a company-wide contract overhaul, securing resources and buy-in across the business. The project modernises our customer contracts at MBFS (Mercedes-Benz Financial Services), effective November 2025, impacting internal and external stakeholders. This required in-depth legal analysis, close collaboration with business partners and external counsel, and sound risk-based decision-making.
Have you had any experiences during your career as a lawyer that stand out as particularly unique or interesting?
Key experiences stem from the close business relationships I have been grateful to build with colleagues in the various roles I have held. I have learned that working diligently on matters and showing my passion for adding value to the businesses I support has earned me the trust of colleagues across different functions. This has enabled my team and me to work in lockstep with them to find creative, timely and effective solutions. This was particularly true during periods of significant corporate change, such as the rapid separation of Daimler Trucks and Mercedes-Benz in 2021. Opportunities like this have allowed me to share strategic insight, demonstrate collaborative leadership and devise legal solutions, always aiming to advance people-centric corporate cultures. In my experience, during major change in a multinational organisation, local in-house counsel are well placed to work cross-jurisdictionally, advocating for their client’s goals through uncertainty and volatility, and connecting with colleagues around the globe – work that is both challenging and rewarding. Outside of work, as President of the National GC Network, I continue to have the privilege of collaborating with exceptional professionals to influence the legal profession more broadly.
