The in-house legal team at Morguard, a preeminent real estate and financing conglomerate, has been expertly led by award winning in-house counsel, Beverley Flynn – the company’s senior vice president, general counsel and secretary since 2004. Recently the dedicated and talented legal team have worked on a C$200m offering of senior unsecured debentures, a C$75m offering of convertible debentures, the acquisition of a 552,000 square foot office complex in Ottawa for C$186m, as well as the acquisition of a 134,000 square foot office complex in Gatineau for C$58.8m. In addition to transactional and business activity, the team leads corporate governance and compliance activities at Morguard. It is a primary driver of institutional change, and has been the directing force of many critical initiatives. Flynn leads the team to be at the forefront of regulatory changes and recently led corporate-wide policy implementations in the areas of whistle-blowing and disclosure, money-laundering and financial compliance, accessibility, privacy, pension fund investment policy and procedures, and the executive succession plan and process.
