Career Biography

Lyndsey Kiser is general counsel at 1Password, where she leads a global legal organisation spanning corporate, commercial, privacy, and legal operations.

Since joining 1Password in 2023, Lyndsey has played a pivotal role in driving the company’s expansion strategy, establishing its corporate legal infrastructure and acting as lead counsel on key global acquisitions. Appointed general counsel in 2026, she oversees global legal strategy, risk management, and governance frameworks.

Prior to 1Password, Lyndsey served as associate general counsel, corporate at Shopify where she was the first corporate attorney hired post-IPO. During her tenure, she built and led the corporate legal function through a period of massive scale, directing complex equity and debt financings, continuous public company disclosure, corporate governance, and regulatory strategy. She also acted as lead counsel for Shopify’s corporate development team, structuring and negotiating mergers and acquisitions and strategic investments in companies of all stages.

Lyndsey began her career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. At Skadden, she advised Canadian and U.S. issuers and underwriters on various capital markets transactions, including Shopify in its 2015 cross-border IPO.

She holds a J.D. with Distinction from Western University, an M.A. in English from the University of Toronto, and an Honours B.A. with Distinction in English from the University of Victoria
