Career Biography

Laurence L’Abbé is a senior vice president, legal affairs and corporate secretary of Dollarama. She oversees the company’s legal affairs, corporate governance and corporate secretariat functions, leads a team of legal professionals, and advises senior management and the Board of Directors on a broad range of legal, regulatory and strategic matters. Laurence holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctor from McGill University. She began her career at Stikeman Elliott, practising corporate and securities law, before joining La Caisse (Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec), where she worked on domestic and international investments across multiple sectors and jurisdictions. Prior to joining Dollarama, she served as deputy general counsel of The Lion Electric Company, supporting securities law, corporate governance and public company disclosure matters for a dual-listed public issuer. At Dollarama, her responsibilities span securities and corporate law, commercial and operational matters, corporate governance, compliance, real estate and transactional matters. During her tenure, she has supported the company’s continued growth in Canada and internationally, including in Latin America and Australia.
