Career Biography    

David Mousavi is a Toronto-based lawyer who currently serves as chief legal officer of NRT Technology, where he oversees the company’s legal, regulatory, and compliance functions internationally. 

He previously served as general counsel of the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB), where his practice focused on board governance, data, and privacy law. Earlier in his career he worked in-house at Bell Canada (BCE) and as an associate at the national law firm of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG).  

Mousavi holds a joint JD/MBA from Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business at York University. He has also completed executive education at Harvard Business School. 

He currently serves as President of the Canadian Bar Association In-House Lawyers. He has written and spoken on topics including technology, AI governance, and the evolving role of in-house counsel.  

In the community, he has chaired non-profit boards in the childcare and seniors’ care sectors and he helped establish pro bono legal services for frontline healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2026, he received the Queen Elizabeth II Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship.
