Highly recommended for its cohesion and meritocratic work culture, the legal team at the core of the Brazilian telecommunications company Raizen has recently provided assistance on some high profile transactions. For instance, in 2017 the team impressed with its participation in the creation of a global joint venture for the sale of sugar between Raízen and Wilmar (Raw Sugar), as well as its participation in Raizen’s first emission of US bonds amounting to $500m. Led by Raphaella Gomes, a well-known Brazilian lawyer with over 14 years of experience, the team has also gathered attention for its decisive influence on key internal projects, such as the creation of Raizen’s M&A area and the design of all applicable processes and work streams, as well as the design and implementation of Raizen’s compliance program and the definition of the company’s ethics and compliance plan.
