What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
Zoetis’ acquisition of NeoGen: Supported Zoetis on the acquisition of NeoGen, a leading Brazilian animal health diagnostics company, strengthening Zoetis’ footprint in precision livestock and companion animal testing. Our team led the full workstream, including due diligence, negotiation of the SPA, and a multi-track regulatory strategy before CADE. The deal involved complex issues around veterinary diagnostics approvals, licenses and permits. The transaction enhances Zoetis’ diagnostics portfolio in Brazil.
What strategies has your legal team adopted to manage disputes and mitigate risks in Brazil’s dynamic business environment?
We like to have legal working together with business to identify legal and compliance risks early and design guardrails before problems arise. Prevention is our primary in‑house stance, enabled by playbooks, training, process controls and avoid disputes. It is mandatory to be a business partner. When needed, we engage key stakeholder on risk-based decisions to reduce exposure and cycle time.
How have economic fluctuations, exchange‑rate volatility or supply‑chain pressures in 2026 influenced your legal priorities?
This is the key dialogue in recent times. Exchange rate and supply chain pressures moved legal to a key player to protect margin and ensure business continuity by adding clauses into key contracts. Main goal is to negotiate and have formalized written agreements and protect the company. Prevention is central to stay ahead of volatility.
