About

Pedro Flach is an accomplished and experienced in-house lawyer in the financial and corporate sectors with past experiences at EY, as general counsel at GSI Brazil – AGCO Group, legal specialist at Forjas Taurus, legal recovery coordinator at DLL Financial Solutions and partner at Banco De Lage Landen. Before joining Thoughtworks Brazil in August 2018 he was at Zenvia Mobile Serviços Digitais. During his time at Zenvia, Flach led the legal department through a period of major growth. Zenvia had a revenue of R$258m of which Flach saved 5% in liabilities and generated tax saving opportunities of R$10m. He established a compliance structure, prepared for the company’s planned IPO and the adaption of the company’s GDPR planning to the needs of Brazilian privacy regulations. He created the legal department and developed its structures and processes in relation to compliance after the company’s acquisition by private equity funds. He created a culture of risk management to temper, as he describes, the ‘start-up atmosphere’ at Zenvia making the company recognise the value in terms of its operational income that litigations and other liabilities had on performance. Through a cultural change and training he achieved a 95% risk reduction figure by the end of the tenure. Another highlight of his time at Zenvia was his invitation to organise and perform a training program to federal superior court judges, the same court that is investigating the “Lava Jato Operation” – the investigation of the major corruption scandal – to train the judges on best practice related to legal management and culture. As of August 2018, Flach moved to pastures new and joined Thoughtworks Brazil as head of legal.
