With almost 20 years of professional legal experience covering a wide range of disciplines including corporate, real estate, civil, administrative, labour, environmental, contractual, commercial and regulatory law, Fábio Medeiros leads the legal function at Klabin, Brazil’s largest paper producer and exporter. Medeiros has experience working across the industry within the in-house sector at Veracel, Stora Enso, Fibria, Votorantim and CPFL Energia, and in doing so has developed skills in legal management team development. Klabin has a diverse business of paper and pulp products used in packaging and other manufacturing purposes, and has 18 industrial units across eight Brazilian states and one in Argentina. In addition to his professional experience, he has a graduate degree in economic and corporate law from Getulio Vargas Foundation and certifications in best practise from the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance. Klabin has a major forestry footprint in Brazil and places great emphasis on community building and environmental protection of rural areas. This year it announced the completion of a new bridge over the Tibagi River, in Telêmaco Borba (PR), which it constructed as part of a community outreach program, and will see Medeiros provide legal and managerial support to help Klabin achieve its goals.
