Spotlight on Barbara Renssen

Barbara Renssen is head of contract management at VolkerWessels Bouw & Vastgoed Ontwikkeling. VolkerWessels is a leading, international construction company (130 operating companies and 6.4bn turnover) and operates in the Netherlands, the UK, North America and Germany. VolkerWessels plays a key role in society with projects and services that sustainably contribute to the living environment.

Barbara leads a large team of 24 people consisting of both lawyers and contract managers. Together with her team, she provides full contract management support to dozens of VolkerWessels subsidiaries. These include contractors and developers. The contracts are complex with an innovative character. To improve internal cooperation with all stakeholders, Barbara has set up an internal digital process and system to approve and adjust contracts in a safe and efficient way. In doing so, Barbara uses innovation as a tool to move the business forward.
