Patrice de Hemptinne is a general counsel with an accomplished international business expertise of more than 15 years with major top-ranked in-house and law firm experience. De Hemptinne is currently the general counsel and company secretary for Belgium headquartered, ground support equipment supplier company TCR where he leads the legal team to give pro-active legal assistance in a fast-paced and challenging environment. His areas of specialism include M&A, negotiating complex international commercial contracts, ethics and compliance, regulatory affairs, corporate governance and risk management and dispute resolution. Prior to joining TCR international, de Hemptinne served as the general counsel of steel and foundry businesses where he was the head of a multi dynamic team of eight lawyers with members based in the US, UK, Belgium, Brazil, India and China. He was a trusted advisor within the executive teams and recognised by internal clients as providing pro-active legal assistance in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Other previous roles include serving as a senior project counsel, at petrochemical business Total, where he was a member of the legal department of the chemical division and working as a legal counsel at GE for over two years and sat as a member of GE’s corporate environmental programme. De Hemptinne speaks five languages: French, Dutch, English, Italian and German.
