Respected lawyer Duco Zoomer has served as the company secretary and general counsel for Dutch truck manufacturing company DAF Trucks for 20 years. In this role he is responsible for compliance, formal corporate government procedures and notifications, serving as the chief legal counsel and head of the legal department. Prior to this role he served as company secretary and general counsel at medical and healthcare organisation Mediq for five years. Zoomer also had a stint as head of legal department for printing and communications company KVGO for eight years. Zoomer started his legal career in private practice at Verheyen & Vreeswijk, working on a variety of general pratice matters after becoming a member at the Amsterdam Bar. In 2018, Imperial Commercials, DAF Truck’s largest dealer group in the UK and Europe, acquired Macclesfield-based DAF Trucks commercial vehicle service centre AM Bell, Zoomer assisted in the facilitation of this deal, helping with negotiation talks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
