Career Biography
Martina has been active in the energy sector since 2005. Her professional career began at Austrian Power Grid AG, Austria’s transmission system operator. There she was primarily responsible for the legal support of grid expansion projects, particularly for environmental impact assessments and related civil law matters.
Subsequently, she joined VERBUND AG and took over legal support for the newly established Renewables company of the group. The following phase was characterized by significant M&A transactions in the renewable energy sector as well as in the core business of hydropower. These experiences enabled her to develop comprehensive knowledge in complex transaction structures and regulatory matters.
Since 2017, Martina has headed to the Legal Department of VERBUND AG. Together with her team of approximately 20 employees, she is responsible for the legal advice of the entire VERBUND Group domestically and internationally in all legal matters. In this role, she actively advises not only on operational business matters but also on strategic decision-making processes.
Her areas of expertise include energy law, regulatory matters, contract management, as well as corporate and stock law issues.
Against the background of the European energy transition and decarbonization objectives, Martina consistently strives to develop optimal and forward-looking solutions for all challenges and thereby actively shape the transformation of the energy sector.
