Carolyn Lidgerwood joined the company in 2011 and has excelled ever since in her position as head of privacy. In this global role she is responsible for advising Rio Tinto on privacy and data protection legal and compliance matters across its extensive global operations, as well as managing the global data privacy compliance program. Working with senior management and various other group functions and business units around the world, Lidgerwood has impressed nominators with her efforts concerning GDPR compliance across the company’s vast global operations in the past 12 months. Prior to Rio Tinto, Lidgerwood spent three years as general counsel and company secretary at Southern Cross Media, one of Australia’s largest broadcasting companies.
