Colgate-Palmolive, the US worldwide consumer products company focused on the production and distribution of household, healthcare and personal care products operates in Argentina through its subsidiary Colgate-Palmolive Argentina. Supporting the Southern Cone arm of the organisation is a three person legal team headed by legal director Gabriela Álvarez de la Fuente. Joining the company in 2016 after almost 13 years of experience in senior in-house roles at other large multinational companies operating Argentina, Álvarez de la Fuente has been noticed by peers for her excellent managerial skills and strong commercial approach, building up a stalwart team that is able to handle complex deals and navigate the wide geographical remit covered by the consumer goods company. Álvarez de la Fuente, however, is keen to highlight the contribution of Colgate-Palmolive Argentina’s former legal manager Alicia Vallespir who retired in early 2018 after 20 years with the company. The team’s daily activities include assisting with understanding the business, successfully finding useful solutions and preventing legal risks in Latin America’s Southern Cone countries of Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile. The team is credited for being well equipped to deal with regulatory issues, contract negotiations, and projects implementations within these countries.
