Managing the legal and compliance department of Baker Hughes in the Southern Cone and Andean regions, Federico Serra is responsible for all legal and compliance matters in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. With over 17 years of relevant experience in counselling oil and gas multinational companies and operators in Latin America, Serra is praised for having ‘the ability to respond under pressure and great capacity to solve complex issues’ by one private practice nominator. He’s also been referred as having ‘a high degree of knowledge in his subject and a strong commitment to teamwork’ by his peers. Baker Hughes, a GE company, is the world’s first and only full stream provider of integrated oilfield products, services and digital solutions, operating in more than 120 countries. Having been at Baker Hughes for more than 13 years, Serra firstly joined the company as its regional contracts counsel, and later became the legal and compliance manager in 2010. In his current role, Serra covers a range of tasks including contract negotiation, risk assessment, compliance, international transactions and dispute resolution. As legal and compliance manger, Serra and his team have been involved in important transactions, including an M&A deal between Baker Hughes and BJ Services in the Southern Cone area.
