Boasting an almost unparalleled understanding of agriculture, financials and industrial conglomerate Cargill’s operations in Argentina, Cynthia Zarranz has been engaged in various in-house legal positions with the company since 1993. Her expertise carries further than her native boundaries, however, as during the course of her employment she has held notable positions focusing on Chile, Paraguay and Bolivia in addition to Argentina, with these roles also involving different areas of the business. Indeed, as well as the agriculture side of the business, she has worked on the support of the company’s marketing, fertiliser and investments arms as well. Her extremely detailed and diverse knowledge of the company has been put to good use on a number of occasions, and thanks to her track record, Zarranz was made legal manager for Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay in mid-2006. She is now legal director for the Southern Cone and in charge of an approximately 20-person strong legal team, also functioning on the board of directors of a number of Cargill companies.
