He is also responsible for all corporate governance and secretarial matters. Specifically, his work covers corporate and commercial law, M&A and divestitures, litigation management, advertisement and marketing law, ethics and compliance, labour and employment law, and finance and tax related agreements. As compliance officer, Toranzo is responsible for ensuring the corporation is compliant with its general business principles (ethics, anti-corruption, anti-trust) by conducting trainings and internal investigations. Toranzo joined Philips in 2009 as legal counsel and was appointed to his current role in 2012. Previously he had spent more than seven years in private practice.
