Santiago Monti is the legal manager of Honda Argentina, a subsidiary of the multinational automobile manufacturer, a position he has held since March 2016. Monti joined Honda in 2011 and is responsible for a variety of matters, ranging from corporate and commercial work, intellectual property, and employee relations. He is also in charge of Honda’s corporate governance program for Argentina and works closely with Honda’s regional base in Brazil and its corporate headquarters in Japan. He began his career in 2001 as in-house counsel for the retailer C&A. He was promoted to the role of head of legal in 2008 and, the following year, was appointed as part of the three-person management team responsible for winding up C&A’s operations in Argentina. Monti led on all legal aspects of the closure and sale of the company, receiving widespread praise for handling a wealth of hugely complicated issues that arose during the process.
