Described by peers as a ‘clear, oriented manager’ and ‘100% professional’, Francisco Beláustegui received additional praise from nominators for his role in a ‘very high profile and complex’ transaction that required him to work in Argentina, Peru and Chile during his time at Diageo Argentina. In his former role as legal counsel for Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador at Diageo, Beláustegui was instrumental in providing support to different executive teams and businesses across the region to ensure full compliance with various regulations, as well as internal company policy in leading negotiations with Grupo Peñaflor for the sale of Diageo´s wine assets. Known for being a ‘dedicated’ in-house lawyer, Beláustegui moved to his current role in June 2016 to undertake a new position as a regional legal manager. In this role, he is the coordinator of legal corporate matters across the entire Latin America region for travel website Despegar.com.
