Diego Alvarez García is the legal director for multinational health care products company GlaxoSmithKline in the Argentina and wider Southern Cone region, having first assumed the role in June 2015 after accruing over a decade of experience during in-house and private practice positions. In leading the legal support across all business units of GlaxoSmithKline in Argentina and the Southern Cone, Alvarez has responsibility for each business unit in the countries of Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia, along with Laboratorios Phoenix, a subsidiary of GSK which manufactures and markets branded generic pharmaceutical products. Alvarez came to GlaxoSmithKline after a role managing and coordinating the legal affairs of Falabella Group and as a senior associate at the Pérez Alati, Grondona, Benites, Arntsen & Martínez de Hoz (h) (PAGBAM) law firm. Outside his achievements in the corporate legal sphere, Alvarez gained an LLM from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2013 as well as spending a year as a Fellow at the Academy of American and International Law in Texas.
