A highly experienced lawyer in the energy sector, Natachia Moorgas has led the legal function at Total South Africa since November 2012. She joined as company secretary and head of legal and eventually moved up to her current position as general manager, legal and governance and company secretary.

Prior to this role she served as legal team manager for Eskom, managing a team of lawyers to oversee legal services in various divisions with the South African electricity public utility. In this position she provided specialist legal advice with regard to all forensic matters within criminal or civil litigation. During this time, Moorgas concurrently served as a member of the tender committee, approving projects in the capital expansion arena.

Her extensive time at Eskom was characterised by a number of different roles since joining in 1995, enabling her to build experience and mould herself as an excellent in-house counsel over the years. She has built this experience through providing specialist legal advice on liquefied natural gas projects undertaken by Eskom in South Africa, assisting on investments, concessions, and joint ventures for local and international projects.
