A lawyer with over 15 years of experience in project transactions and deals in several African jurisdictions spanning Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Zambia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Sudan and Uganda, Mustafa Tharoo has established himself as a leading corporate and commercial lawyer in the continent.

His areas of specialism include banking and finance, property law and M&A which has involved him advising vendors on the acquisition of shares and assets. During his career he has undertaken a range of both private and public company commercial work, working on joint ventures, partnerships and marketing agreements.

Prior to his current role Tharoo was a consultant at ADEPT Chambers in Tanzania and also had a private practise stint as a consultant at Ringo & Associates in Tanzania and a partner at Anjarwalla & Khanna in Kenya. Not content to merely contribute to business and legal discourse via his general counsel role, Tharoo is a speaker at seminars and conferences on various aspects of law and investment.
