The legal division of Aspen Pharmacare Holdings is led by the group legal officer and group compliance officer Kurt Drieselmann, who leads the legal function across the Aspen Group where it operates 69 companies in 48 jurisdictions. The legal team is domiciled in ten jurisdictions, consisting of approximately 35 professionals and a 25-strong support team.

Drieselmann founded the legal function at Aspen and has been a key part in driving the Group’s legal structure and initiatives from the company headquarters in Durban, South Africa. A key area of focus of Aspen’s legal team has been to support the phenomenal growth of the business. The success of the legal team has been propelled by the goal of “Facilitating Business” to align to the business and operational structures of Aspen. Drieselmann has in-depth knowledge, commercial focus and an entrepreneurial attitude and in addition to his in-house role is an Attorney of the High Court and holds an MBA along with various supporting qualifications. He is also a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society.

He excels in all aspects of international business, with a focus on international commercial contracting, litigation, anti-trust and competition law as well as directly leading the Group’s legislative compliance program.
