One of Argentina’s most prominent in-house lawyers in the oil and gas industry, Fabiana López Leon has spent over 20 years in the sector and has acquired, according to one nominator, a ‘full view of the industry and great expertise in transactional and regulatory issues and challenges’. This wide range of skills enabled Leon to provide support to the business at many different levels including working at Shell’s headquarters in London and at the board of directors for oil and gas developments for the company in Buenos Aires. A ‘clear and knowledgeable professional’, López is noted for her flexibility and negotiation skills, helping the downstream portion of Shell’s activities in Argentina operate without being inhibited by legal or regulatory challenges. López left Shell in late 2016 after the research period of this publication.
