Career biography

In a market where corporate governance is often viewed primarily as a regulatory compliance function, I have built my career at Advanced Asset Management, S.A. (AAM) on a different premise: well-designed governance not only protects and oversees organizations, but also creates value, facilitates transactions, and strengthens the strategic execution of business objectives.

I currently coordinate the corporate governance and corporate secretarial management of the companies and investment vehicles administered by AAM across multiple jurisdictions and corporate structures. This responsibility has enabled me to develop a comprehensive perspective that combines expertise in corporate law with a strong understanding of regulatory, fiduciary, and investment frameworks, participating in the legal structuring, corporate oversight, and strategic decision-making processes of companies and investment vehicles across different jurisdictions.

The intersection of corporate law, governance, and finance has defined the core of my professional experience. I have coordinated mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions across different jurisdictions, including a transaction governed by Mexican law as part of a corporate reorganization process within the quick-service restaurant (QSR) sector. I also participated in the legal review of an M&A transaction involving companies in the Dominican hospitality sector and led, from inception to completion, the corporate reorganization of an investment fund management company. In addition, I have actively contributed to the structuring of investment vehicles for Private Equity transactions, integrating the legal architecture of corporate structures with the financial strategy underlying each transaction.

A significant focus of my work has been the modernization of corporate governance practices. I coordinated the implementation of a technology-based voting platform for the 2025 Annual Unitholders’ Meetings of the funds administered by AAM, significantly enhancing transparency, traceability, and efficiency. I also led the migration of AAM’s and its funds’ governing bodies, including boards of directors, committees, and shareholders’ meetings, to a specialized digital governance platform that centralizes notices, agendas, minutes, resolutions, and corporate records. Complementing this initiative, I designed and currently oversee an internal corporate control framework for monitoring portfolio companies (SOIs) and special purpose vehicles (SPVs) across multiple jurisdictions.

I hold a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Universidad Católica Santo Domingo (UCSD) and a Master’s Degree in Corporate Business Law from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM). I further complemented my education with a Specialization in M&A and Private Equity offered by ESADE Business School and Ramon Llull University, as well as the Advanced Legal Program in Strategic Corporate Governance from IE University. I am also a full member of the Ibero-American Institute of Law and Finance.

I am convinced that the future of corporate governance in emerging markets lies in integrating it as a strategic tool that supports investment, value creation, and long-term sustainability. That vision guides my daily work and my commitment to strengthening institutional investors and capital markets throughout the region.
