Career Biography

Dr. Michael Czermak is Managing Director Legal Affairs & Compliance at Casinos Austria Group, where he leads all legal, regulatory and compliance matters across the Group and its international subsidiaries. Reporting directly to the Chairman of the Management Board, he advises senior leadership, boards and shareholders on strategic transactions, litigation, regulatory issues, corporate governance and risk management.

With more than 30 years of experience in highly regulated and technology-driven industries, he has held senior legal, compliance and business leadership roles at organisations including Liberty Global, UPC Austria Group and Park Now Group. Throughout his career, he has led complex M&A transactions, business transformations, litigation strategies and compliance programmes, while supporting international growth initiatives and large-scale operational projects.

A trusted adviser to boards and executive teams, he is recognised for combining strong commercial acumen with deep legal expertise, particularly in M&A, regulatory affairs, corporate governance, compliance and strategic business development. He also serves as a member of supervisory boards and has extensive experience managing global teams and stakeholder relationships across multiple jurisdictions.

He holds a Doctor of Law degree and an LL.M. in Information and Media Law from the University of Vienna, both awarded with honours, and completed Harvard Business School Online’s Business Essentials programme.
