Career Biography

I began my legal career in 2009 at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune after qualifying as a Japanese attorney, where I advised both Japanese and multinational clients on a broad range of corporate legal matters, including employment and labour law, litigation, domestic and cross-border M&A transactions and general corporate affairs.

Following my early years in private practice, I served as a part-time lecturer at the University of Tokyo Law School. I subsequently pursued advanced legal studies at a law school in the U.S., where I obtained an LL.M. degree and was admitted to the New York Bar. I also gained international legal experience through training at a law firm in the U.K. before returning to Anderson Mori & Tomotsune.

After returning to the firm, I was seconded on a part-time basis to the Japanese affiliate of a major global technology company, where I worked on various in-house legal matters in a fast-paced and internationally integrated business environment.

I joined Dentsu Inc. in 2016 and have since consistently worked within the group’s legal function. My practice covers a wide range of legal and governance areas, including advertising and marketing law, digital and sports marketing matters, data privacy, M&A, employment law, group company governance and collaboration with overseas group companies.

In January 2023, following the reorganisation and spin-off of Dentsu Group’s corporate functions, I transferred to Dentsu Corporate One Inc. Since 2025, I have served as the chief director of the legal division, overseeing and managing legal functions across multiple practice areas. In addition, from 2026, I have concurrently served as the chief director of the human rights team, where I have been leading the promotion of human rights due diligence initiatives across the organisation and its group companies.
